Pray Without Ceasing

Hey, bloggy friends! One of the neatest things about blogland are the friends that you meet. Sometimes you only get to meet them via cyberspace this side of Heaven. Other times, you are blessed to meet them face to face. This is about one of those face to face friends, a true one of a kind friend, one who tells it like it is friend, an "Elaine friend!"

Last summer, I had the pleasure of spending a few days with Elaine and her precious family in NC. She was in the process of writing her first book. It's a wonderful one too! When you visit her website, you'll see the link to it.

We talked--a lot, laughed--a lot, ate--a WHOLE lot!, ran in the rain, celebrated her son's birthday, had a luncheon with her "ancients," shopped, explored really neat places for photographs in her book, and just loved on each other as new friends. She is such a blessing to all who know her.

Well, her post yesterday and her facebook this morning have put Runner Mom into a new mode...pray without ceasing. (1 Thess.). Y'all, Elaine received news that no woman ever wants to hear. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer. This news has touched the very depths of those of us who dearly love this wonderful sister in Christ.

BUT...we serve a God who is the Great Physician, the Healer of all. He is bigger than any disease out there! I truly believe in miracles, and I am asking God to heal Elaine completely. I would love for you to join me in praying for her! Please link up with her website and leave her a comment. I know that she would so appreciate it. And, so would I!

Sweet blessings,

You said it all here! I feel the same way about Elaine. She is so real, and what God has ahead for her and for each of us as her friends is going to be SPECIAL! I am joining with you and all the rest to pray Elaine through the days ahead.

Love you, thanks for sharing this.

Susan, this news has punched me in the gut! Ever since I read about it this morning I've thought of little else. I've emailed Elaine twice and put a card in the mail to her. She has been such a blessing to me even though I've never met her face to face as you have. I just KNOW God will work in and through this new direction in her life. It's just hard to see her facing such. But I know she will never be alone....God will always be there with her! And I will certainly be joining you in prayer for her !!!

God bless you Runner Mom!!!

Have mercy... I'm everywhere! And I'm drinking it in.

Praise God for his many kindnesses toward me today. It has helped us all.

And the ancients are coming to church on Sunday... man, I love me some ancients.

Susan, I heard the news yesterday and have been praying. I also visited Elaine's blog and left her a message. She is a sweetheart and I hate for her to go through this. But as blogging sisters we can pray her through this. How special that you've had the pleasure to meet Elaine in person.

Susan...
When I read Elaine's post yesterday I lost my breath for a moment. Yes... let's pray for our dear sister in Christ! My baby sister is a 8 year breast cancer survivor (she was 33 when it was diagnosed)

Between Elaine's doctors, her family and our prayers we will all be working along side the Greatest Healer of All Time!
