Outside the Box

My backyard looks like the shallow end of our community swimming pool! Mercy! We are definitely not in a drought anymore!

Thank you all for your kind and encouraging comments about my website! I am still tweaking the thing!! I just want to take pictures, but there's a little more to it! Sorta like life. We just want to do the fun things--Bible studies, shopping, running, eating, decorating, etc. (Now that's my list!) But the laundry grows taller in the basket, and the dishwasher still has to be emptied to be refilled so that you can see the bottom of your sink. And, carpool still happens. It's a cycle that we all are a part of. Doing real life. As long as we do it with some joy, we're headed in the right direction :). ...For the joy of the LORD is my strength." Nehemiah 8:10

Wanted to take a quick poll with you all today! Pretend (or maybe some of you don't have to pretend!!) that you have one entire day to do ANYTHING in the world that you wanted to do...anything! Describe your day to me! I can't wait to see what you have to say!! Take your time and really think outside the box.

Sweet Blessings!

Susan I so get your frustration. I just want to write, write, write and meanwhile the wet laundry in my washer has sat there two days now. Isn't that terrible? So ashamed... I'm going to get up from here, run it through the wash again, and finish the job for pete's sake.

But if I had a full day to do anything? It probably wouldn't be writing. I would want to go for a full day, glorious hike with some of my favorite people. It would need to be a perfectly sunny, crisp day, too. We'd pack a lunch and some snacks to eat along the way and have a cold, crisp apple waiting in the cooler in the car for when we finish. After the hike, we'd go home and shower and go out to eat at a good restaurant and talk and laugh about the day. Splendid! Just may have to make that happen soon.

I totally get it...Life is so busy. I have so many goals and a "to do" list a mile long.
The perfect day:
I love summer. The perfect day to me is spent with my kids: outside. We love to swim, picnicing and grilling; enjoying God's wonderful warmth in the summer months.
Benjamin keeps asking me: "How long until summer?"

Find myself sitting in the midst of a beautiful area...a special place in GODS creation (beach, mountain, creek, or stream)....with journal and Bible in hand. This would be my dream place to be for the day.

Today, I am surrounded by a winter wonderland. We are undergoing another blanket of snow. God's amazing beauty surrounds me as I write this post.

Hugs,
andrea

If I had an entire day to do anything I wanted to do, I would probably spend my day reading. I don't get to do that very often. :-)

Have a great weekend!

I can relate to that!!

Hmmm... I'll have to say I'd start the day with a family breakfast that I didn't cook or have to clean up. Then we pack a lunch and go for a nice hike. The weather would be sunny, but have just a little bit of a chill to it. We'd spend all day just having fun and laughing together. By evening, my hubby and daughter would go have a date night together while I spent time to myself. Reading and maybe taking a nice bubble bath in a tub that was long enough.lol Then once they came home, we'd say family prayers together, Kevin and I would put Bethany to bed and then we'd cuddle on the couch and watch a good movie and eat snacks.

Whew! That sounds fun!!!

Sit on the beach in front of the ocean with perfect weather conditions...dipping my toes in as the water flushes up....reading God's Word until my heart's content....with my family with me enjoying their time on the beach. Peace. Quiet. God's creation.

Oh and I'd eat cheese fries from the boardwalk that would not have any fat, calories, carbs, etc. :)
Is this too much to ask?

I would definitely be someplace tropical...yeah, that't the ticket. Tropical and writing! Writing the great american novel on my laptop while listening to the sound of the ocean lap up against the shore.

sigh.

(snap out of it, laura).

um. okay. I'm heading over to take a peek at your photo blog!

Let's see, first of all it would have to be summer. I am originally from Barbados so I absolutely love hot summers. I would want to have an RV, my family and some of my friends. The ones who are fairly loud and laugh a lot. We must have money to spend and we would drive all over, from state to state, or from one place of interest to the other. Eating, shopping, laughing, talking, taking lots and lots of pictures.

Honestly, that would be a perfect day for me.

Blessings,
Vickie

I would spend a day at the beach, the weather would be just perfect, not scorching. I might even need to wrap up in a blanket to keep warm, I would have a good book, or several good books, and just be able to relax, enjoy and take in the beauty of what God has provided for me. It has been such a long time just taking a day away, and all I seem to be doing is subbing. I will be sharing some BIG news, soon as I get myself together to post some more. I have been a little out of it lately. Toooo Busy! Have a wonderful weekend. Jackie

I had that day in the last 24 hours as I type this! Anything at all? It is to Cuddle up to my JESUS - and PRAISE my God in His Presence with no distractions, no phones, no meetings, no responsibilites - just being focused on HIM! The very amazing thing has been HIS RESPONSE to my praising Him! He is so real - He speaks volumes to me moment by moment - from the Inside >>> Out! My heart has been singing to Him and His HEART has been singing back!

TOTAL JOY!!!
Nothing left to steel me away -
He is ENOUGH for me - and HE is all I desire!

Basking in the JOY of His presence!

Glad you are back, Susan!

Sorry I have not written much lately. Have been working 50+ hours at my day job. God is good, teaching me a lot. I'm preparing to start writing my second book very soon.

BTW, my perfect day would find me at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC with my husband soaking in the spa pools, and reading by the fire. I so long for more quiet time with Jesus (although the time I've had has been very powerful), and restful time away with Jon.

Blessings to you and your family!

A perfect day would be anything ALONE...A quiet place with God and nature. Maybe a cabin in the woods or the beach...just anyplace I could sit, in the sunshine, with God, my Bible and quiet!!

Anything? I can do anything? Well, first I'd assume I'm completely brave...no fear on this day!!! I would hop on a plane early in the morning so that I could get myself across the border and I would spend my day with a cherished friend. We wouldn't have any agenda. We would sit and talk and share what the Lord has been doing in our life. We'd drink coffee and no doubt do a little shopping. We'd laugh and hug and talk and cherish each moment. We'd pray for one another and wish the day wouldn't end.

Smiling as I type that :)
Thanks for letting me dream!
