2010--A New Decade

I hope that y'all had a nice New Year's Eve...we ditched the grilled steaks and baked potatoes 'cause hubby wasn't feeling 100%--and I do not grill!!! Mercy! We are going to enjoy that meal tonight.

Things are going well with my family. Thank you all for your precious comments and continued prayers. They are felt and appreciated. We are just taking it one day at the time.

I have been cleaning...my house smells like lemony scented Pine-Sol! The floor is actually clean enough to eat from--but I wouldn't suggest doing that! The decorations and trees are in the attic, and the goodies have been eaten. But, Christmas is much alive in our hearts. Some of you may do this. We save the beautiful cards from family and friends, put them in a basket and place them on the kitchen table. Each night, before we say the blessing, we choose a card and include that family in our prayer. What do y'all do with your Christmas cards after Christmas?? Just DO NOT tell me that you throw them away!! That breaks my heart! I have 19 years worth of cards filed away(actually tucked in an extra chest of drawers!) It drives my hubby looney, but they are special-- friends took the time to send us greetings and love, and I so appreciate that.

Did any of you start a new resolution? I would love to hear about that! I had a great run today--perfect weather. Looking for a new marathon to do. We are actually considering the Little Rock , AR one in March. It's just a very LONG drive. Marci, are you near-by?? I also started a new Bible Study with Wendy Pope. I plan on reading through the Bible this year! I personally hold y'all accountable to keep me encouraged! Don't you just love bloggy friends? I also read that Yolanda is hosting a Bible Study too--check that one out too--see her Dec. 21 post.

Our computer is still "under the weather!" It's been 4 weeks this Sunday! I am using hubby's laptop--still! Sometimes it cooperates and sometimes...well, I cannot leave y'all messages sometimes. I am reading your posts! I truly dislike computers! We have tried an anti-virus thingie, but it was not 100%. We'll get it up and running..I pray..by the end of next week. I really am ready to launch my photography business--website and all, but if the computer is not cooperating, it's really not the right time. Patience, oh grasshopper! I did have a photo shoot yesterday morning! It had to be inside due to the weather! It was so much fun!

Ok..I have truly rambled today. And, it's my blog, and if I want to ramble every now and then, it's alright! I'll do better next time. Y'all enjoy your evening...have fun watching those bowl games. Mine is on tomorrow afternoon at 2--Go Gamecocks!

Sweet Blessings,

Just replied back via e-mail (go look up Romans 1:20; my two cents worth for what it's worth); and do tell... where is the photography website? Is it up and running yet? How very exciting for you.

I wish we could just get together and talk. It's just not the same via the phone. We'll have to fix that in this new year.

Please know I've been keeping you close in my thoughts and prayers during these mellow days of mourning. You are a good friend, and we love a good God. May his goodness overflow in your heart and life this week.

Susan,

Don't you just love the smell of a fresh cleaned home? One of my favorites. I also took down our tree today and have things fairly in order. I fixed a big meal for my hubs, his sister and her husband at noon. Tonight is left-overs. Steak sounds so delicious, I look forward to having that in 2010 when my braces come off. Can't believe I've not had steak in two years, at it is one of my favorite meats.

Happy New Year!

Lovingly,
Yolanda

Hope hubby is feeling better and that you got to enjoy that meal.

Praying for you and yours.

You will LOVE LOVE LOVE reading through the Bible in a year with Wendy Pope! It's one of the best things I did in 2009!

YES! Please.Please.Please Run the Little Rock Marathon. {No pressure, of course.} I am about 3 hours north in NW Arkansas. But, I will totally make the trip. Keep me posted on your plans.
I also hope to read the Bible all the way through. You may have to keep me accountable.
I am still praying for you and your family. Love you, friend.

Susan, It's so good to hear your sweet words again and to know that you are doing well. We've missed your voice!

We've had a very relaxing, slow paced New Years Day playing some board games and just eating leftovers. I had meant to make pork chops and blackeyed peas, but we just had too much other food in the fridge for me to cook again, so we'll do that tomorrow.

Blessings on reading the Bible through. I've done that a few times now and absolutely loved it! This year I'm in the process of writing a Bible study for publication (hopefully in March or April) so I won't be reading through this year, but will still commit to good quiet times with God.

Again, it's good to hear from you again. Hang in there girl! You're much loved!

19 years of cards!! Oh my! That would drive me batty.lol We keep some... I've heard of people keeping the cards, and then the next year, they detach the back portion and resend the front to the people who sent it, as a post card and let them know that you've been praying for them. I like both yours and their idea. Maybe I will blend them together.

So good to have you back on... even for your famblings. I love them!

Can't wait to see that site up and running!

It's such a blessing when you, Runner Mom, are up-and-running! I love the rambling thoughts, many kindred to my own. There's something about "new" and "clean" that is such a welcome to this new year.

I also offer my condolences at the loss of your father. There's never a good or easy time of saying "farewell" to one so dear to us.

May your new treads take you far this year as you run this race. It's a joy to share it.

Blessings,
Kathleen

Blessed 2010 to you Susan. I too have had computer troubles for almost a year so I know the feeling. This one cooperates when it feels like. I am just about starting some photography courses as I would love to be a photographer and have my own business, so I am excited for you and praying you get your site up and running soon.

blessings,

Happy New Years!! My husband and I are starting a daily devotional by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and I'm excited about it. :) And I've realized I'm RIDICULOUS out of shape. I would say that I resolve to lose weight, but I may as well just do it because I never stick to resolutions.

Good luck with reading your Bible all the way through!! It seems like a daunting task, but I'm sure if you read a few chapters a day, you'll totally kick butt.

I love your ramblings. Feels like I'm sitting and eating off that clean floor with you...hopefully I've been encouraged to pull out my Pine Sol!

I too keep Christmas cards. I have bins filled with cards, letters, etc... I try to weed them out from time to time, but they are all so precious, reminders of the ones who sent them.

The Lord brought to my mind a post you wrote last year sharing how your church, in community with other churches, provides shelter for the homeless. Are you still doing that? It's bitter cold here right now (-20c without the wind factor) and as I was praying for those living on the streets early this morning, listening to it blowing outside, my mind recalled your post. I believe I had intended to share that info with one of my Pastor's, but I don't think I ever did. Would love to find that post again. I know you're having computer issues, so now is probably not the time to ask. I will keep searching, but when you are able I would love to hear from you.

Praying for you and your family. May you know God's peace and presence in 2010.

Love, prayers and hugs,
Joy

Happy 2010 Susan and family!

Hope your husband feels better soon. I don't grill either!

Praying your computer is up and working soon. I know how much we all depend on them these days. Praise God you do have some access through your husband's laptop.

Wishing you joy, peace and love,

Mary
