Trinket or Treasure?

Last Wednesday, on a fabric hunting trip, my sweet friend,Teresa and I discovered that a yard sale was going on...in the middle of the week, people! Even my boys know that the good yard sales happen on the weekends! But anyway, we parked the car and hopped out to see what goodies awaited!

We didn't have to wait long! We found a tablecloth on the ground filled with darlin' hats from the 50's and 60's!! Jackie-O would have been in hog heaven! I modeled a yellow feathered one for Teresa! It was something else! Think of Big Bird feathers!! And, the camera was in the car, but we didn't get it!! Sorry!

Then, we found something that I DO collect! Milk white china....usually bowls or vases. I have tons that Mama simply didn't use any more, and I just love them! This is what we discovered last week.
This darlin' vase was $3.00. I was amazed--almost everything this lady had was tagged at $3.00!! Must have been her favorite number.
And this, my prize!! This adorable punch bowl and matching cups was a mere $6.00!! I did try to contain myself! I was doing a happy dance on the inside!! I proudly showed these finds to Hubby when I got home. All he did was shake his head!!! Bless his heart! He didn't see the value in it!! And yes, I could quote some scripture here and have a great mini lesson on treasures on earth as compared to those stored in Heaven, but I won't! You get the picture!!

Hop over to Rhoda's today for more fun finds! I doubt I'll be doing anymore yard saling this summer. Saturday mornings are prime time for my long runs. But, if I see another mid-weeker, I'll link up to share!!

Many Blessings!

$6??? I cannot believe that! I love your finds.

PS ~ I have what looks like the exact same pattern as the vase ~ pitcher and glasses set that was my grandmother's. I just love it. Love the vase you found too.

Oooh! I love milk glass!! On the 'buffet' table in our kitchen, I have what used to be my Grandmothers candy dish, and two candle holders. A few years ago at a yard sale! my aunt bought me 4 tea cups and the 1 mini serving plate the lady was selling.

What you bought, I would sneak from your house if we lived close.LOL Great finds!!!!

I have several pieces of milk glass. My father in law was an avid collector of the hobnail kind and when he passed away, I got a few of his pieces. Priceless! Thanks for visiting Choose Joy. I added a couple of scrapbook pages I made tonight. I am having joy with my new machine, the Cricut. It cuts all the letters and images for scrapbooking or signmaking or cardmaking! My husband got it for me and he really doesn't always appreciate all the time I spend scrapbooking now and this will make it more! Take Care. Carol

Great finds! My husband is often left shaking his head at my found treasures. He called this weekend to tell me about a great headboad he had found in the dumpster, but did not get it. I say go get it now, great project material. He went back and trash had been dumped on top, so he decided to dumpster dive early Sat AM for me while he would possibly not be seen, only to go back that AM and the trash truck had run. He called to apologize and said what trash trucks run on Sat. It was the thought that counts, but I am sure he wonders about me sometimes. Jackie

How cool and what a blessing, especially that you found it at the "loser" weekday sale...duh, all the good sales happen on the weekends. :-) smiles. (Actually in my parts Fridays are really a hit...better than Saturdays.)

You really did get a steal on that punch bowl/cups set. Especially for you being a lover of milk white.
