Adventure With God

Hey, everybody!

It's been a busy week!! Only one post, and that was done late at night with my eyes starting to cross! But God is good, a new day has come!

For those of you have been following my blog for a while, you know that I have listened to God's promptings--after many times of ignoring Him. He laid upon my heart to pray about a women's ministry at our church. After MUCH MUCH prayer--thank you!!!--and planning, our FIRST leadership team meeting took place this afternoon. Now, no church meeting in the South would be done properly without food! I only asked these sweet little things to bring their favorite dessert! Yummy!!! I tasted several goodies and I have to say, these girlfriends can cook! We prayed, discussed, laughed, ate, and came up with several things that I think the Lord is pleased with. He is just so good! Although we would simply love to jump in head first and start doing things OUR way, we know that we must "Apply your (our) heart to instruction and your (our) ears to words of knowledge." Proverbs 23:12 We have to wait for Him and His perfect timing--not ours. For women, in particular, this is NOT easy! So, our joy is to stay in His Word and pray and seek His truth for this, His ministry at our church. I'll let y'all know what happens next!! We're working on the logo now...I am so loving this!!

We came up with a name for this ministry as well. It's"Growing In Grace" based on John 15:5. It fits perfectly. We are like the branches attached to the deeply rooted vine. We are reaching out into our church family--to new members as well as visitors searching for Him or for a new church home. Those branches are also stretching further out into our community. I am so excited about God's plan! I found this quote that I want to share with you. "You are most fully alive when you are on an adventure with God."---Erwin McManus. Don't you just love this?

Bloggy friends, please keep this baby ministry in prayer as it matures and grows according to God's perfect will. Thank you!!!

Blessings,

That sounds wonderful, wish we had something like that beginning at our church. I would love to hear what your purpose and ideas for ministry are. Keep Listening. Jackie

Hi my friend,

So glad the meeting went well. Growing in Grace is a wonderful name. If you keep listening to the Lord, He will bless, bless, bless. I'd love to be part of a women's ministry with you at the healm. Well...God at the healm through you. ;)

Love you, Me

I am a quote gal, and that is a great quote!

Another one I came across a few weeks back.

If you aren't prepared to follow, then you aren't prepared to lead.

AMEN!

Lovingly,
Yolanda

Susan,
Hooray for the beginning of a wonderul adventure with God! And what better traveling companions than girlfriends who bake!

I'm inspired by the plans you have to reach outside the walls of your church into your community. I'll pray that God uses you and each of the women on your team to bless the women you'll meet.

Speaking of adventures with God, we're leaving today to visit the Grand Canyon. Hooray!

Keep growing in grace...and showing us the way!

Blessings,
Kelli

I'm so excited for you Susan. You are doing things the right way. Obedience, prayer, waiting on God. The ministry God creates through you and your team will be blessed.

I am the WM director at our church. Our first event was in Sept and it was great. We are also taking it slowly and allowing God to direct. It is so refreshing.

Be blessed, Cindy

I'm so excited for you. Can I say, also a little envious. I say that because there are a few of us praying for a women's ministry at our church. The thing is there is already a "women's fellowship" and they are in charge of a women's spring banquet and maybe one other function. So, I've been told we can't step on their toes. We want to start a ministry that is more focused on events that would be like seminars for learning/teaching and events that would reach out to those unchurched. The answer of leadership kind of peeved me because I think we should go forth with creating a ministry and allowing the current fellowship to come along side us while they still maintain their current events. No such luck. They believe differently and it's not worth the fight. I think the leadership just doesn't want to rock the boat and they have too much on their plate with the new building campaign. Maybe I can try to push the envelope next yeart a little more if nothing else to find understanding and clarity for myself.
Love ya,
Paula

First of all I LOVE the name of the ministry...its so right on...where we all should be living and growing.

Second I love Erwin McManus...God speaks some very common sense truths through him.

I am praying for you Susan and this ministry at your church, knowing God will stretch you and grow you and bring you closer to His heart in the process...woo-hoo!
